I did not dare throwing the tower from the table to the ground however these things can only take that much damage. I experimented by throwing it on the table from a resting position the tower stayed intact. The tower is ultra sturdy, and very unlikely to be thrown clumsily down during your game. Coloured towers and metal dice don't go well together. The tower's surfaces are certain to be scratched and ultimately damaged. Under no circumstances however would I use the Metal Call of Cthulhu Dice Set here, a set that we will visit together in the future. It can also accommodate the full Cthulhu Wars game line, as well as games without Mythos reference which however relate to an eternal, corrupting evil like the Mutant Chronicles 3rd Edition RPG and Warzone Resurrection, its miniatures iteration. Any Mythos-related set from Q-Workshop will work just fine, including the Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Dice Set (black-green) and the Call of Cthulhu Horror on the Orient Express Dice Set (black-purple) that we have seen together. If you are wondering which dice to use the tower with, in addition to the Outer Gods sets that I just mentioned the answer is rather obvious. There are some rudimentary instructions in the package, they are however hardly necessary. It didn't take me more than five minutes to assemble the tower. There are oval shaped holes on the walls, looking as organic and pulpating as ever, they are however too thin to allow the roller to observe the course of his dice before they hit the ground. The tower feels very thick, even though it is doubly thick only on its sides and not on its front and side walls. Here, a result which is as impressive is achieved with less than half that number. ![]() One needed to assemble 25 pieces for the Color Tech Dice Tower. ![]() My hat is off to Q-Workshop's engineering. The tower's dominant colour is a toxic form of green, with purplish, skin-like tentacles crisscrossing its walls. The obvious practical advantage is that you can throw in buckets of dice with relative impunity they are unlikely not to fall in the tower. The engineering behind the tower is such that the upper part is bigger to that of other towers in the same range. The tower is imposing and menacing, its upper part reminiscent of a gigantic gaping maw ready to devour whatever approaches it. The strong points: It was a matter of time for Q-Workshop to put out an imposing, official dice tower for Call of Cthulhu, and even more so following the four Outer Gods Dice Sets. Non-Euclidean geometry means uneven shapes and curves only. With the exception of the lower part of the base, the tower does not boast straight lines. The walls' visible surfaces behind the tentacles are adorned with blasphemous letters and signs in languages best left forgotten. Think of Starcraft's corrupted command centers or buildings and you get the idea. The design is reminiscent of a tower that has fallen into disrepair, with tentacles taking over. From the moment one throws a die to the moment it hits the ground and rests, it will have touched three different angled platforms. The tower is composed of eleven (!) easy to assemble pieces (no tools or gluing required) and weighs 194 gr. The tower is made from sturdy MDF and comes out as insanely coloured. What you get: Your EUR 23 or equivalent will buy you Q-Workshop's Call of Cthulhu Color Dice Tower, the official dice tower for every iteration of the Call of Cthuhu RPG or any game based on the Cthulhu Mythos overall. Maybe you will be awarded the Great Old One's gratitude posthumously, but until then you can use the unique Call Of Cthulhu Dice Tower for all your games, cherishing its tainted design.' It will be usable for many years, aeons even, until the time the stars are right and Great Cthulhu rises. Our Call of Cthulhu Color Dice Tower is durable and carefully designed according to the cyclopean architecture of R'Lyeh. Review Summary: The official, dedicated Call of Cthulhu dice tower kicks ass and takes names.īlurb from the publisher: 'To prevent your precious dice from falling off the table ever again, the Dice Tower should be stable and balanced.
